A cemetery is a place where every death had a life, and every life has a story. Windsor Grove Cemetery is over 160 years old and has lots of stories to tell. The Cemetery Team of the Essex Branch of The Ontario Genealogical Society (OGS)/Ontario Ancestors has been onsite at Windsor Grove working for over 6 years. It has gone beyond its original genealogical work of recording information. Its curiosity of the symbols found on markers has led to more questions and a larger story being uncovered through the investigation of their meaning. Join us for a walk through the cemetery and learn about the common and uncommon symbols, which convey the stories of lives lived.
