About the event

Exploring the McDougall Street Corridor North of Wyandotte

Saturday, May 2 - 2:15 PM - 3:15 PM

Host: Irene Moore Davis - Essex County Black Historical Research Society

Before municipal and federal urban renewal policies destroyed Windsor's Black neighbourhood and business district with its historic churches, social halls, and multigenerational homes in the mid-twentieth century, the McDougall Street Corridor was the beating heart of Windsor's Black Canadian community. Come and learn about some of the people, places, organizations, and events that made the McDougall Street Corridor such a fascinating place.
