The Ford City Community Improvement Plan (CIP) is a guiding document for a long term vision for the community, supported by the City of Windsor. It captures the goals  gathered through background studies, community conversations and surveys. Through these grassroots community-driven efforts, a vision was identified:

“Ford City will be a distinct, attractive, and pedestrian-centred neighbourhood where residents and visitors feel safe and have a sense of ownership. This ethnically diverse community builds on its culture and history as the birthplace of the automobile industry in Canada and encourages the arts, crafts and skills found in the neighbourhood and greater community.”

Join an Urban Planner from the City of Windsor for an introduction into the Ford City Community Improvement Plan and see it in action at the street level. We will discuss how the long term vision of the CIP was created in collaboration with the Ford city community and is rooted in Ford City’s history. We will stop to see a few projects created as part of the CIP.
