Your tour starts in front of St. John’s Church. Guides will walk participants through the cemetery pointing out tombstones of interest from the 18th to 20th centuries. We’ll then stroll to the crossroads of Sandwich and Brock Streets, featuring the religious and administrative core of this early British settlement. Along Sandwich Street, we'll pass many historic commercial, administrative and residential gems on the way to the Duff-Baby Mansion, which served as an early fur trading post.
Built by Alexander Duff in 1798 as his home and mercantile establishment, this house remained in private hands until the 1980’s. It is owned by the Ontario Heritage Trust and has recently undergone major restoration work. The City of Windsor leases the first floor to allow for regular public access.
