About the event

Lincoln in the Woods: What Shapes a Lasting Neighborhood

Friday, May 1st from 6:30 - 7:30 PM

Host: Deidre Ritsche - Border City Living (@bordercityliving)

This pocket of South Walkerville offers a clear example of how neighbourhoods are shaped over time. Originally developed in the years following World War I and later expanded with mid-century homes, the area reflects a pattern of incremental development across decades.

On this walk, we’ll explore how park planning, street layout, and decades of tree growth contribute to a neighbourhood that feels cohesive despite its mix of architectural styles. Along the way, we’ll look at how these elements influence long-term stability and desirability, and what they reveal about how strong neighbourhoods are formed and sustained.

About the host:

Deidre Ritsche is a co-founder of Border City Living, a Windsor-based real estate and marketing team known for its design-forward approach to homes and neighbourhoods.
