A comfortable stroll along the Riverfront Trail in the near West Side with a brief talk about the genesis of the Sculpture Park, the Odette Gift, a viewing of specific pieces and a reading of poetry and prose written by local authors complimentary to the public art. The talk will address the development of the riverfront, its reclamation from industrial use through some visionary thinking by both government and private sector leaders, the establishment of the Odette Family's gift of public art and the influence of these pieces on other art forms and public art spaces in our community and this region.
Event location: The walk will start and end at the Sculpture Park Parking (Askin Ave & Riverside Dr)
