About the walk:
Join us for a tour of Ford City that will highlight the neighborhood's history and its ties to the Labour Movement. As the birthplace of the Canadian automotive industry, the residents, buildings, and neighbourhood all played a significant role in the development of our city. Learn about the historic architecture that once was, and how those buildings helped to anchor a proud working-class community!
The influence of the auto plant, the adaptive reuse projects taking place, and the challenges tied to maintaining a community all fall under the walk’s overall theme of City Building!
