About the walk:
Riverside turned 100 years old in 2021. Museum Windsor commemorated this anniversary by having an exhibit called Riverside at 100 in 2022, one year later because of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result of the exhibit came a history walking tour. This tour touches on similar stories covered in the exhibit.
This tour will cover some land deeds with the indigenous people and settlers who are associated with Riverside, some of the first structures built in what became Riverside, the origin of why the town came into being, going over some of the churches (ex. Riverside United), historically significant homes (ex. Esdras Parent house), schools (ex. Edith Cavell School), architecturally stunning homes (ex. U. R. Loranger) and even sneak in a prohibition tale or two.
