About the walk:
Embark on a captivating journey through the storied past and vibrant present of Seacliff Park in Leamington, Ontario, as you join us on a walking tour through its scenic expanse. From its origins as a vital center for lumber and farm produce transport along the waterfront to its transformation into a cherished municipal park, learn about its evolution through the ages. Discuss the locations of its lost structures, including the boathouse, bathhouse, pavilion, and baseball diamond. Hear tales of resilience as we recount the devastating tornado that swept through the park and surrounding area in 2010, leaving destruction in its wake but inspiring the remarkable Tree Legacy Project, which stands as a testament to nature's enduring spirit.
Today, Seacliff Park stands as a beacon of community vitality and recreation, offering a host of modern amenities for visitors of all ages, which include Leamington's tomato splash pad to the state-of-the-art Amphitheatre. And with the recent extension of the boardwalk, there's never been a better time to experience the timeless allure and boundless charm of Seacliff Park.
