Jane's Walk 2024 Schedule

We're gonna take a walk down through Electric Avenue! Walk through Windsor's newest collection of murals in the western edge of Via Italia (Erie St. E.) to see the many visually stunning ways artists, both local and internationally renowned, have used the urban landscape as their canvas.

This walk will show people how zoning by-laws define and shape our cities and neighbourhoods. It will explain the basics of zoning by-laws and their associated regulations, what is and is not allowed by-right in these zones, and it will question whether our current zoning by-laws are good or bad for the city.

Tour Oakwood Bush, the interesting natural wonders of the area and some of the interesting historical details.

Learn about the various tree species found in Spring Garden and how to identify them by their characteristics. Participants will also learn about ecosystems found within Spring Garden, restoration work being undertaken and the proposed Ojibway National Urban Park.

A self-directed bicycle route leading you on a scavenger hunt through small, local, food merchants. You can discover and collect your provisions along the way then share your experience and delicious finds at a community picnic at the end of the route.

Join us for a tour of Ford City that will explore the neighborhood's history, and its ties to the Labour Movement. We’ll explore existing buildings, the historic architecture that once was, and how the built form of the street helped to anchor a community that drove the automotive industry!

Led by the Essex County Black Historical Research Society, take a journey back in time to appreciate the sights, sounds, and significance of Windsor's historic Emancipation Celebrations, held for decades in Jackson Park and widely regarded as "The Greatest Freedom Show on Earth."
